Blaze's paws thudded against the harsh ground in the forest. Her breathing rough and rugged, she ran as hard as she could to some destination that she was unsure of. A howl in the distance summoned her to use all her energy as she sprinted to the heart of the forest. An odor of smoke came from where she was headed, and that only encouraged her to run faster. A glimmer of orange, red, and black was spotted by her red orbs, and she had come to the notion of a fire in the forest. In her forest. In her family's forest. It always has been and always will.
She came to the fire and watched the burning of her pride and joy. The sickening sound of cracking timber came from every direction and smoke blurred her vision. She let out a howl of pain as a spark flew into her left orbit and she struggled to get it out. When it came out, she took a second look at her paws.
They were transparent.
This was impossible. She was as solid as a rock, or so she thought.
"I must have died," she thought miserably. "But then, how did I get here in the first place?"
As if to answer her, a pair or cool, green orbits appeared in front of her, and seemed to help her float above the forest, above the haze of smoke. A wisp or white smoke surrounded the two orbs, and it swirled around and around until it assumed the shape of a handsome white brute.
"Brother!" she tried to cry out, but she had no idea that she had a brother. However, she just knew that he was. A surge of emotion poured over her body: an emotion of pain, sorrow, and happiness all combined into one. That was not her feeling, but her brother's as he sent it over to Blaze. Blaze let out a soft whimper, but her brother only looked down at the fire and then accusingly at Blaze. A new feeling of rage and hatred overcame Blaze's body as her brother sent it over to her.
"No! I didn't do this! I would never-" Blaze said frantically to her brother, but he only gave a disappointed shake of his head.
Back at her den, Blaze let out a frantic series of barks in her fright.
